Served as editor for Texas State of Change, a data-driven digital reporting project funded by the prestigious Knight News Challenge grant, with the goal of creating a resource that examines the Hispanic serving institution status at Texas State. This project has been presented at both Hacks/Hackers Austin in 2012 and at the Association for Education in Journalism and Mass Communication 2012 conference. txstateofchange.com

• Texas State of Change was presented at the May 2012 Austin Hacks/Hackers meeting, featuring data-driven journalism initiatives. As editor of Texas State of Change, Sara spoke extensively about the process of developing stories, motivating reporters, and procuring data sources. Sara was a contributing reporter for SXTXstate.com, a digital reporting project covering SXSW Interactive, Interactive Media Association Conference, and SXSWedu.
